He went with his sister Joann from A-1 talent agent with Mecury Records & Frank Lafel was their Manager. They had written 22 songs and signed to BMI music. With this Agency bookings then booked into the Golden Lady. The famous bar in Homestead Florida. When the 4 week booking ended Joann & Tom went o Buffalo NY and opened for Don Williams. They opened for Mr. Williams for about a month on his tour. Then booked at a famous Hotel on the Miami beaches. Tom contacted the Golden Lady and they told him to come back to the Golden Lady as the house band. The Agency Studio Musicians and Joann returned to Nashbille. Tommy Potter and Joann were managed by the famous Manager Bill Goodwin. Because Tommy Potter had broken the recording contract they gave Joann the contract and travel out of Brentwood Tennessee where they had been given a house next to Jeannie C Riley to live in with her two children. At first it housed the family but Joann turned down the contract because she didn't want to tour without Tommy. Joann returned to New Mexico and Tommy put together the now known as Card sound band and added Jeffery who was about 20 and Billy Bob and the others you mentioned to the famous band. They placed all around Dade country and always at Alabama Jacks on Saturday and Sunday. Wasn't unusual for Kathy Giffith and the late Frank to stop by and Kathy would sign with the band. Another one who came by was the one and only Jimmy Buffet. When Tommy Potter passed away the most beautiful lay of flowers and a card which read Will miss you my friend Tommy JB.
